Hanging with the T Tribe

Before the event – tonight I am going into uncharted territory – I am going to a Trinny London Masterclass at their/ her HQ in Jubilee Place in Chelsea. I have been a red lipstick lady for my entire life, barring a café brown stint in the 90’s. I also wear a hell of a lot of black which is another thing that is not super ‘Trinnyesque’. I am nervous to say the least. I am afraid that I will be this girl but with lovely Lisa Eldridge red lippy on.

The experience – I walked in to Trinny HQ, which is in the centre of Chelsea, right off the famous Kings Road. I was a few minutes late, thanks London Transport, and I did feel like THAT GIRL when I walked in but it all changed quite quickly.

We had a lovely makeup artist that started with skin then went on to lips and eyes, demonstrating on a different volunteer each time. I went into this Masterclass, knowing very little about the products except that they are kind to more mature skin as they are cream based and I love the Trinny ethos.

The other ladies were all near experts in comparison, one woman saying she owned every product! Once we got into playing with the makeup they were all super lovely and helpful to the two newbies, me being one of them.

These products are not the easiest to navigate, the colours are very nuanced so you need to get the base – BFF, BFF Eye and JAT correct before you can play with colours and looks. I must say the Masterclass was a bit advanced for me so I did not buy a lot – only the aptly named Miracle Blur and Freddie, a Lip2Cheek. I must even just adding those two products, I did get compliments at work the next day.

The results -I have decided that I need to learn more, so I have booked in for a 1 to 1 makeover, which is 45 minutes and the cost (£45) redeemable against product. I loved the atmosphere of Trinny HQ, it was like being behind the scenes and  there was no pressure to purchase product.

Since my makeover is not until January (starting the new decade with a bang), I did visit the counter at Fenwick’s to buy cheeky Fortune Eye2Eye. I can’t wait to full get on the Trinny train. I think I might have been converted.
